~ Rocky Road Candy ~
1--12 oz pkg semisweet chocolate chips
2 T butter or margarine
1--14 oz can sweetened condensed milk**
(**not evaporated milk)
2 cups dry roasted peanuts
1--10 1/2 oz pkg miniature marshmallows
Line 13×9 inch baking pan with waxed paper. In heavy
saucepan over low heat, melt chips and butter with
condensed milk; remove from heat. In large mixing
bowl, combine peanuts and marshmallows; stir in
chocolate mixture. Spread in prepared pan. Chill
2 hours or until firm. Remove candy from pan; peel
off paper and cut into squares. Store loosely covered
at room temperature.
Microwave Directions: In 1-quart glass measure,
combine chips, butter and condensed milk. Microwave
at high 3 minutes, stirring after 1 1/2 minutes. Stir
to melt chips. Let stand 5 minutes. Proceed as
directed above.
Makes 3 1/2 dozen
