Milk Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/4 cup shortening
1 t vanilla
1 egg
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 t baking soda
1/4 t salt
2 cups milk chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350F.
Beat sugar, sour cream, butter, shortening, vanilla and
egg in a large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed,
or mix with a wooden spoon. Stir in flour, baking soda
and salt. Stir in the milk chocolate chips. Drop dough
by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto
ungreased (or parchment paper lined) cookie sheets.
Bake 12 - 14 minutes or until set and just beginning
to brown. Cool 1 to 2 minutes on cookies sheet, then
remove from the cookie sheets and transfer to wire
racks to cool completely.
Makes 3 1/2 dozen cookies

For gift giving package cookies in cellophane bag. Place
bag of cookies in a decorated bag. Use paperbacked fusible
web, assorted fabrics for appliques, lunch-size brown paper
bag, buttons and glue. Decorate bag with appliques backed
with fusible web, fuse to bag per manufacturers instructions.
Print country graphics and fuse web to back of graphics,
arrange on bag and fuse to bag. Embellish with buttons and
any other embellishment you wish to use. Add gift tag and
homespun fabric if desired. Great in a gift basket.
