~ Soft and Chewy Oatmeal Cookies ~
3/4 cup butter flavored Crisco
1 1/4 cups light brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1 1/2 t vanilla
1/3 cup milk
3 cups old-fashioned oatmeal
1 cup flour
1/2 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
1/4 t cinnamon
1 cup raisins
1 cup chopped walnuts
Preheat oven to 375F.
Combine first 5 ingredients. Beat at medium speed
until well blended. Mix in next 5 ingredients at
low speed, just until blended. Stir in raisins and
nuts by hand. Drop by spoonfuls on lightly greased
(or parchment paper lined) cookie sheets. Bake for
10 - 12 minutes or until lightly browned around the
edges. Cool 2 minutes before removing to cooling
racks to finish cooling.

For gift giving package cookies in a decorative
disposable aluminum covered pan. Separate layers
with cellophane. Embellish pan with ribbon.
