~ Lemon Sugar Cookies ~
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup butter flavored shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 T milk
2 t lemon extract
1 t vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups flour
3/4 t salt
1/2 t baking soda
additional sugar
Preheat oven to 400F.
Cream butter, shortening, and sugar. Beat in egg,
milk, and extracts. Combine flour, salt and baking
soda. Gradually add to creamed mixture. Shape into 1
inch balls 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets.
Flatten with a glass dipped in sugar. Bake for 9 - 11
minutes or until edges are lightly brown. Immediately
remove to wire racks to cool.

For gift giving package cookies in a 2 quart
acrylic canister with wire hinged lid. Embellish
canister with curly Christmas ribbon around neck
of canister and Christmas graphics.
