~ Irish Lace Cookies ~
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup light brown sugar
4 T all-purpose flour
2 T milk
1 t vanilla
1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats**
(**not quick cooking)
Preheat oven to 350F.
Cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Stir in the flour, milk, and vanilla. Stir in oats.
Drop the batter by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased (or
parchment lined) cookie sheets, about 3 inches apart
(these cookies spread out a lot). Bake 10 - 12
minutes until golden. Let them cool slightly on
sheets then remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Decorate tin with country graphics and give as a gift.
Line tin with decorative cellophane, tie tin closed
with a homespun fabric bow and add gift tag.
