~ Gumdrop Tasty Chewies ~
3/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg
2 t vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup flaked coconut
1 1/2 t baking powder
1/2 t baking soda
1 cup gumdrops, halved
Preheat oven to 350F.
Cream together the first 5 ingredients. Add
the remaining ingredients and mix well. Fold
in gumdrops. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto cookie
sheets. Bake for 10 - 12 minutes or just until
golden brown.
Makes 3 dozen cookies

Christmas graphics and ribbon. Add gift tag.
