~ German Chocolate Caramel Bars ~
1 German Chocolate cake mix
2/3 cup evaporated milk
3/4 cup melted margarine
1 cup chocolate chips
50 caramels
Preheat oven to 350F.
Mix the cake mix, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and
melted margarine together. Pat 1/2 of the
mixture in a 9x13 inch pan and bake for 8
minutes. Melt the caramels and the remaining
1/3 cup evaporated milk in a double boiler
and spread this on top of the bars when taken
out of the oven. Top with the chocolate chips
and remaining half of the mixture. Bake another
15 minutes.

Great gift for a neighbor. Package cookies in
cellophane bag. Place bag of cookies in a gift
basket that is fabric lined. Add a package of
coffee beans and a pair of coffee mugs.
Tie with a raffia bow.
