~ Cinnamon Cookies ~
1/2 cup butter flavored shortening
1/2 cup butter
2/3 cup brown sugar
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
2 t vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 T ground cinnamon
1 t baking soda
1 t ground nutmeg
1 T grated orange peel
1 t grated lemon peel
pinch of salt
Preheat oven to 350F.
Cream together shortening, butter and sugars.
Add egg and vanilla extract and mix well.
Gradually add flour and remaining ingredients
and mix well. Shape dough into 1 inch balls
and roll through additional sugar. Place on
ungreased baking sheet and bake for 12 - 15
minutes.
