~ Chocolate Oat Scotchies ~
2/3 cup butter or margarine
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup plus 2/3 cup chunky peanut butter, divided
1 t vanilla
4 cups quick-cooking oats
1--11 1/2 oz pkg milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup butterscotch chips
1 cup salted peanuts (not chopped)
Preheat oven to 375F.
In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter;
stir in brown sugar and corn syrup until the
sugar is dissolved. Stir in 1/4 cup peanut
butter and vanilla until blended. Add the
oats; mix well. Press into a greased 13x9x2
inch baking pan. Bake for 12 - 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, melt the chips and remaining peanut
butter; stir in peanuts. Spread over crust.
Refrigerate until cool; cut into bars.
Makes 6 1/2 dozen

For gift giving package cookies in a ziplock bag.
Place bag of cookies in a flannel gift bag. To
make flannel gift bag, use a 10 1/2 x 25 inch
piece of flannel fabric. Matching right sides
and short edges, fold fabric in half. Using 1/4
inch seam allowance, sew sides of bag together.
Turn bag right side out. Fringe top edge of bag.
Gather top of bag together and secure with ribbon
or raffia and add a cookie cutter.
Add gift tag.
