~ Chocolate Chewies ~
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 1/3 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 cup all-purpose flour
2/3 cup powdered cocoa
1 t baking powder
12 oz semisweet chocolate chips
2/3 cup pecans, chopped
Preheat oven to 350F.
Cream together butter and sugar with an electric
mixer, add eggs, flour, cocoa and baking powder
and beat until blended. Stir in chocolate chips
and pecans. Drop tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased
baking sheet and bake for 8 - 9 minutes. Allow
cookies to cool for several minutes before
removing from baking sheet.

For gift giving package cookies in cellophane bag.
Place bag into decorative paper bag lined with tissue
paper. Add gift tag.
