~ Caramel Bars ~
1 cup quick-cooking oats
1 cup flour
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 t baking soda
1/4 t salt
3/4 cup butter, melted
32 caramel candies
5 T milk
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Preheat oven to 350F.
Stir together oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda,
and salt. Add melted butter; mix well. Press half
of mixture over bottom of a 13x9 inch pan. Bake
10 minutes. Meanwhile, in a medium saucepan,
melt caramels and milk together over low heat,
stirring frequently. When crust has baked,
sprinkle evenly with chocolate chips and walnuts.
Drizzle with caramel sauce. Crumble remainder of
crust mixture over caramel. Bake 12 - 15 minutes.
Cool completely before cutting.
Makes 24 bars

cellophane bag. Place bag of cookies in a napkin
lined wire basket. Add several different coffees,
coffee mugs, and napkins to basket. Embellish
basket with ribbon, ornament,
and gift tag.
