~ Best Ever Butter Cookies ~
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 1/2 cups flour
2 T Orange juice
1 T vanilla
1 t baking powder
~Frosting~
4 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup butter softened
3 to 4 T milk
2 t vanilla
Combine butter, sugar and egg in a large bowl.
Beat at medium speed until creamy. Reduce
speed to low and add flour, juice, vanilla and
baking powder. Beat until well mixed. Divide
dough into thirds, wrap in plastic and refrigerate
for about 2 or 3 hours. Heat oven to 400F. On
lightly floured surface roll out dough, 1/3 at a
time, to 1/8 to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with cookie
cutters. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased sheet.
Bake 6 - 10 minutes. Then cool. In small mixing
bowl combine all frosting ingredients. Beat on
low until fluffy. If desired add color, Frost
and decorate or use a pastry bag.
Makes 3 dozen cookies

Great gift for a coworker. Package cookies in
cellophane bag. Place bag of cookies in a gift
basket that is fabric lined. Add a package of
coffee beans and a pair of coffee mugs.
Tie with a raffia bow.
