~ Apple Nut Bars ~
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 t salt
1/4 t baking powder
2 eggs, well beaten
1/4 cup melted margarine
1/3 cup raisins
1 cup pecans, chopped
1 cup finely chopped apples
1/2 t vanilla
1/4 t cinnamon
Preheat the oven to 350F.
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, salt,
and baking powder. Add the remaining ingredients and
mix well. Place the batter in a greased 9x13 inch
baking pan. Bake for 40 - 50 minutes or until the
edges are golden. Remove from oven and cut into bars
while still warm, not hot.
Optional: Roll the bars in confectioners sugar or
spread with a cream cheese frosting.

For gift giving decorate a plate with enamel or
ceramic paint. Let dry. Wrap cookies and plate
with Saran Wrap. Add Christmas greenery, ribbon
and gift tag.
