~ Angel Whisper Cookies ~
1 cup butter
2 cups flour
1/2 t salt
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 t almond extract
~Filling~
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 1/2 T butter
2/3 cup sugar
4 T lemon juice
powdered sugar, optional
Preheat oven to 400F.
Cream butter, add sugar. Mix well. Add remaining
ingredients and blend well. Chill. Flatten 1 teaspoon
dough on cookie sheet. Bake until brown. For filling
Blend in a double boiler, stirring until thick. Place
small amount between two cookies. Dust with
powder sugar if desired.

For gift giving decorate a plate with enamel or
ceramic paint. Let dry. Wrap cookies and plate
with Saran Wrap. Add Christmas greenery, ribbon
and gift tag.
