~ Pear Cake ~
2 cups sugar
3 cups flour
1/2 t cinnamon
1/2 t nutmeg
1 1/2 t baking powder
1 t salt
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups butter, melted
1 t vanilla
3 cups finely chopped pears
pecans (optional)
Preheat oven to 350F.
Sift together in a large bowl: the sugar, flour,
cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda and salt. Mix in a
large electric mixing bowl: the eggs, butter
and vanilla. Add the flour mixture and chopped
pears a little at a time to the eggs, butter and
vanilla mixture - mix well. Pour into a greased
and floured Bundt pan. Bake for 1-1/4 hours.

For gift giving decorate a plate with enamel or
ceramic paint. Let dry. Place cake on plate.
