~ Brownies ~
4 oz unsweetened baking chocolate
2/3 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 t vanilla
1 1/4 cup flour
1 t baking powder
1 t salt
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Preheat oven to 350F.
Grease 13x9x2 pan. Melt chocolate and shortening
in large saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat.
Mix in sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in remaining
ingredients. Spread in pan. Bake 30 minutes or
until brownies start to pull away from pan. Do
not over bake. Cool slightly before cutting.

Great gift for a coworker. Package brownies in
cellophane bag. Place bag of brownies in a
gift basket that is fabric lined.Add a package
of coffee beans and a pair of coffee mugs. Tie
with a raffia bow. Add gift card
and recipe card.
