~ All Butter Cake ~
2/3 cup butter, softened
1 3/4 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 t vanilla
2 3/4 cups all purpose flour
2 1/2 t baking powder
1 t salt
1 1/4 cups milk
Preheat oven to 350F.
Grease and flour with a 13x9 inch baking dish, or
two 9 inch or three 8 inch round cake pans. In a
large mixer bowl, mix butter, sugar, eggs, and
vanilla until fluffy. Beat 5 minutes on high
speed, scraping bowl occasionally. On low speed,
mix in flour, baking powder, and salt alternately
with the milk. Pour into prepared pans. Bake the
oblong for 45 - 50 minutes or the layers for
30 - 35 minutes or until a wooden toothpick
inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool on wire racks.

For gift giving decorate a plate with enamel or
ceramic paint. Let dry. Place cake on plate.
