~ Fruit Nut Bread ~
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
3 bananas, mashed
2 cups flour
1 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
1 1/4 cups chopped nuts
1/4 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup Marachino cherries, diced
Preheat oven to 350F.
Cream butter and sugar and add beaten eggs,
then add mashed bananas. Sift flour, salt
and soda together. Add to butter mixture.
Stir just to moisten and then stir in nuts,
chocolate chips and maraschino cherries.
Bake in a greased 9 inch loaf pan for about
40 minutes.
Makes 1 loaf

For gift giving leave loaf in aluminum pan.
Wrap with Saran Wrap and then with tulle,
gathering ends at top and embellish the top
with ribbon. Add gift tag.
