~ Cinnamon Bread with Apple Spread ~
2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
4 t baking powder
1 1/2 t cinnamon
1/2 t salt
1 cup buttermilk
1/3 cup oil
2 t vanilla
2 eggs
~Streusel~
2 T sugar
1 t cinnamon
2 t margarine
~Apple Spread~
8 oz package cream cheese
2/3 cup apple, peeled and finely diced
1 T powdered sugar
1 T milk
1/4 t cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350F.
Grease and flour bottom of 9x5 or 8x4 loaf pan.
In large bowl combine all ingredients; beat 3 minutes
at medium speed. Pour into pan. Combine streusel
items until crumbly. Sprinkle over batter and
swirl with knife to marble. Bake 45 - 55 minutes
until toothpick comes out clean. Cool 15 minutes.
Remove from pan. Combine all ingredients for
spread in food processor or blender. Process
until mixed, scraping down sides.
Serve with spread.
Makes 1 loaf & 1 1/2 cups spread

For gift giving, wrap loaf with Saran Wrap then wrap with
kitchen towels. Embellish wrapped loaf with Christmas
greenery and ribbon. Place spread in a small jar with
label. Add gift tag. An added touch...give wrapped loaf
in a gift basket with a small bread board and bread knife.
