~ Amish Pumpkin Bread ~
3 cups granulated sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs, beaten
1 lb canned pumpkin
3 1/2 cups flour
2/3 cup water
2 t baking soda
2 t salt
1/2 t ground cloves
1 t cinnamon
1 t allspice
1 t nutmeg
Preheat oven to 350F.
Mix sugar, oil and eggs together. Add pumpkin.
Then add dry ingredient and finally water,
stirring just until mixed. Pour batter into
2 greased and floured 9x5 inch loaf pans. Bake
for 1 hour. Especially good spread with cream cheese.
Makes 2 loaves

For gift giving wrap loaves with Saran Wrap
then wrap with kitchen towels. Embellish
wrapped loaves with Christmas greenery and
ribbon. Add gift tag. An added touch...give
wrapped loaves in a gift basket with a small
bread board and bread knife.
