Spicy Ginger Cookie
~ Mix in a Jar ~
4 cups flour
3/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground ginger
1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/4 cups sugar
Combine ingredients and mix well
Place mixture into wide-mouth 1-quart canning jar
Pack down tight so everything will fit
Put the lid on the jar and tie a homespun fabric bow around the lid
As an added touch, tie a wooden spoon to the lid
Attach jar labels to the jar with the following instructions

~ Spicy Ginger Cookies ~
1 jar cookie mix
1 cup of butter or shortening
1/2 cup molasses
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven to 350F
Whip butter or shortening until light and
fluffy. Add molasses, eggs and vanilla
and beat until mixed. Stir in the jar mix;
until well combined. Drop teaspoons of
dough on a greased cookie sheet
Bake for 12-14 minutes
