Savory Onion Bread
~ Mix in a Jar ~
1/4 cup dehydrated onion flakes
3 1/3 cups bread flour
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp powdered milk
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dried sage, optional
1 envelope of yeast
Place the onion flakes in a small zip-close bag and set aside
Combine the the other ingredients, except for the yeast, into
a quart jar. Add the bag of onions and the yeast to the top of
the mix and close the jar
Put the lid on the jar and tie a homespun fabric bow around the lid
As an added touch, tie a wooden spoon to the lid
Attach jar labels to the jar with the following instructions

~ Savory Onion Bread ~
1 jar bread mix
1 1/8 cups warm water (105-110F)
1 tbsp vegetable oil
Preheat oven to 350F
Mix ingredients. Knead, let rise,
punch down and form loaf and place
in greased pan. Let rise again and bake
for 30 minutes or until golden brown
and loaf sounds hollow when tapped
