Peanut Blossom Cookie
~ Mix in a Jar ~
2/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
30-40 Hersey Kisses**
(**keep wrapped)
Place **wrapped kisses in ziplock bag
Layer in wide-mouth 1-quart canning jar in order listed above
Press each layer firmly in place before adding next ingredient
Press bag of kisses firmly into top of jar last
Put the lid on the jar and tie a homespun fabric bow around the lid
As an added touch, tie a wooden spoon to the lid
Attach jar labels to the jar with the following instructions

~ Peanut Blossom Cookies ~
1 jar cookie mix
1 stick butter or margarine, very soft
1/2 cup peanut butter
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven to 350F
Remove bag of candy from jar. Set aside
Empty jar ingredients into a large mixing bowl
Blend thoroughly with a whisk. Add butter or
margarine, peanut butter, eggs and vanilla
Mix with an electric mixer until crumbly. Finish
mixing with hand until a smooth dough is formed
Shape dough into 1-1/4" balls. Place balls 2" apart
on sprayed baking sheets. Bake for 10 minutes
Unwrap candy while cookies are in oven
Remove cookies after 10 minutes. Quickly
press one candy into center of each cookie
Return to oven for 2-3 more minutes
Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet
then remove to wire racks
