Orange Oatmeal Chip Cookie
~ Mix in a Jar ~
2 cups oatmeal
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp nutmeg
2 tsp dried orange peel
1 cup chocolate chips
Layer in wide-mouth 1-quart canning jar in order listed above
Press each layer firmly** in place before adding next ingredient
NOTE**This will be a tight fit
Put the lid on the jar and tie a homespun fabric bow around the lid
As an added touch, tie a wooden spoon to the lid
Attach jar labels to the jar with the following instructions

~ Orange Oatmeal Chip Cookies ~
1 jar cookie mix
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 egg
1/4 cup orange juice
Preheat oven to 350F
Empty contents of jar into a large bowl;
mix all of the jar ingredients thoroughly
Add butter, egg and orange juice; mix well
You may need to use your hands to finish mixing
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased or
parchment paper lined cookie sheets
Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden around edges
