A fun and easy way to package great gifts for giving
Give jars by themselves or use as the perfect addition to any gift basket
Great idea for the holidays or any special occasion
~ Onion Rice Mix in a Jar ~
**Makes 3 jars**
4 cups uncooked long grain rice
1 tsp salt
2--1 1/4oz packages onion soup mix
1 tbsp dried parsley flakes
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl
Divide evenly into 1-pint canning jars
Put the lid on the jar and tie a homespun fabric bow around the lid
As an added touch, tie a wooden spoon to the lid
Attach jar labels to the jar with the following instructions

~ Onion Rice ~
1 jar rice mix
2 cups cold water
1 tbsp of butter or margarine
Place contents of jar into a medium saucepan
Add cold water and butter or margarine
Bring to a boil over high heat
Cover, reduce heat to low, and cook
15-25 minutes until liquid is absorbed
Makes 4-6 servings
