A fun and easy way to package great gifts for giving
Give jars by themselves or use as the perfect addition to any gift basket
Great idea for the holidays or any special occasion
~ Oat & Fruit Muffin Mix in a Jar ~
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup oat bran or instant rolled oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
3 tsp finely snipped candied lemon peel
1/2 cup snipped dried cherries (apples or apricots)
1/3 cup chopped almonds or walnuts
Layer in wide-mouth 1-quart canning jar in order listed above
Press each layer firmly in place before adding next ingredient
Put the lid on the jar and tie a homespun fabric bow around the lid
As an added touch, tie a wooden spoon to the lid
Attach jar labels to the jar with the following instructions

~ Oat & Fruit Muffins ~
1 jar muffin mix
1/4 cup melted butter
1 cup milk or vanilla yogurt
1 egg
Preheat oven to 400F
Beat butter, milk or yogurt, and egg in mixing
bowl until combined. Stir in contents of jar
Spoon into 12 greased or paper lined muffin cups
Bake for 20-25 minutes
Cool in pan 5 minutes
