Give jars by themselves or use as the perfect addition to any gift basket
Great idea for the holidays or any special occasion
~ Herbed Beer Bread Mix in a Jar ~
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
3 cups self-rising flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup Parmesan cheese
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried dillweed
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp dried thyme
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp dried oregano
Layer in wide-mouth 1-quart canning jar. Firmly pack
brown sugar into jar. Combine flour, baking powder and
salt until evenly blender. Layer flour mixture on top of
brown sugar -- pack down firmly. Combine remaining
ingredients in a small bowl
Put the lid on the jar and tie a homespun fabric bow around the lid
As an added touch, tie a wooden spoon to the lid
Attach jar labels to the jar with the following instructions

~ Herbed Beer Bread ~
1 jar bread mix
1--12oz bottle beer, Light or regular
1/4 cup butter, melted
Preheat oven to 350F
Place bread mix from the jar into a large
mixing bowl. Mix all ingredients until well
blended. Add beer, pouring on inside of bowl
to prevent excessive foaming. Continue to
mix until moistened. Batter will be sticky
Transfer batter into a greased loaf pan
Brush top of batter with the melted butter
Bake for 45-55 minutes or until an inserted
toothpick in the center of the bread
comes out clean
