Gourmet Nutty Chocolate Bar
~ Cookie Mix in a Jar ~
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/4 cups rolled oats
1 single serving size milk chocolate bar*
(*size can vary)
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Mix oatmeal in a blender
Grate chocolate bar and mix into the oatmeal
Layer in wide-mouth 1-quart canning jar in order listed above
Press each layer firmly in place before adding next ingredient
Put the lid on the jar and tie a homespun fabric bow around the lid
As an added touch, tie a wooden spoon to the lid
Attach jar labels to the jar with the following instructions

~ Gourmet Nutty Chocolate Bar Cookies ~
1 jar cookie mix
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven to 375F
Remove chocolate chips and nuts with a large spoon
Empty cookie mix into large mixing bowl. Stir mix
with large wooden spoon to evenly distribute ingredients
Add butter or margarine, egg and vanilla. Mix until
completely blended. Mixture will be thick, so you may
need to use a wooden spoon to finish mixing. Shape into
walnut sized balls and place onto a greased cookie sheet
2 inches apart. Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are
lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes on cookie sheet and then
place cookies on baking racks to finish cooling
Makes 3 dozen cookies
