Death by Chocolate Cookie
~ Mix in a Jar ~
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup chocolate chips
Layer in wide-mouth 1-quart canning jar in order listed above
Press each layer firmly in place before adding next ingredient
Put the lid on the jar and tie a homespun fabric bow around the lid
As an added touch, tie a wooden spoon to the lid
Attach jar labels to the jar with the following instructions

~ Death by Chocolate Cookies ~
1 jar cookie mix
1 1/4 cups butter, softened
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven to 350F
In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter,
eggs and vanilla. Add mix and stir until
well-mixed. Drop dough by heaping teaspoons
onto an ungreased baking sheet, spacing about
two inches apart. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until
lightly browned (Do not over bake!) Cool for
5 minutes; then remove to a baking rack
Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks
Makes 3 dozen
