~ Butter Pecan Bread Mix in a Jar ~
1 1/8 cups flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/8 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
Layer in wide-mouth 1-quart canning jar in order listed above
Press each layer firmly in place before adding next ingredient
Put the lid on the jar and tie a homespun fabric bow around the lid
As an added touch, tie a wooden spoon to the lid
Attach jar labels to the jar with the following instructions

~ Butter Pecan Bread ~
1 jar bread mix
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg, slightly beaten
2 tbsp butter or margarine, softened
Preheat the oven to 350F
In a large bowl, place the bread mix
Combine buttermilk, vanilla, egg, butter
or margarine. Stir until the mixture is
moistened. Spoon the batter into a large
loaf pan that is well greased. Bake for 1 hour
Cool slighty in the pan on a wire rack
before removing
