A fun and easy way to package great gifts for giving
Give jars by themselves or use as the perfect addition to any gift basket
Great idea for the holidays or any special occasion
~ Colonial Cornbread Mix in a Jar ~
2 cups of Bisquick
1/2 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
Layer in wide-mouth 1-quart canning jar in order listed above
Press each layer firmly in place before adding next ingredient
Put the lid on the jar and tie a homespun fabric bow around the lid
As an added touch, tie a wooden spoon to the lid
Attach jar labels to the jar with the following instructions

~ Colonial Cornbread ~
1 jar cornbread mix
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup melted butter
Preheat oven to 350F
Add contents of jar to eggs, milk, and butter
Stir ingredients just until blended. Place
this in a greased, 8 inch square baking pan,
and bake for 30 minutes
Serves 4-6
