Cocoa Peanut Butter Cookie
~ Mix in a Jar ~
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup cocoa
1/4 tsp salt
Layer in wide-mouth 1-quart canning jar in order listed above
Press each layer firmly in place before adding next ingredient
Put the lid on the jar and tie a homespun fabric bow around the lid
As an added touch, tie a wooden spoon to the lid
Attach jar labels to the jar with the following instructions

~ Cocoa Peanut Butter Cookies ~
1 jar cookie mix
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven to 350F
Empty jar of cookie mix into a large mixing bowl
Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix. Add butter,
peanut butter, egg and vanilla. Mix well. Shape
into walnut sized balls. Place 2 inches apart on
parchment lined baking sheets. Press balls down
with a fork. Bake for 9-11 minutes until edges are
browned. Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet before
removing to wire rack
Makes 3 dozen cookies
