Chocolate Truffle Pound Cake
~ Mix in a Jar ~
3 cups granulated sugar
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup cocoa powder
Layer in wide-mouth 1-quart canning jar in order listed above
Press each layer firmly in place before adding next ingredient
Put the lid on the jar and tie a homespun fabric bow around the lid
As an added touch, tie a wooden spoon to the lid
Attach jar labels to the jar with the following instructions

~ Chocolate Truffle Pound Cake ~
1 jar cake mix
3/4 cup butter, softened
5 eggs
1 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 325F
Butter an 8- to 9-cup Bundt pan
Cream butter until it is smooth
Add eggs one at a time, beating well
after each addition. Add milk and vanilla
extract, beating until thoroughly blended
Add contents of jar and beat 3 minutes until
smooth. Pour into prepared pan and bake
1 hour and 5 minutes, or until a wooden pick
inserted comes out clean. Cool 25 minutes in
pan, remove from pan and finish cooling on rack
