A fun and easy way to package great gifts for giving
Give jars by themselves or use as the perfect addition to any gift basket
Great idea for the holidays or any special occasion
~ Chipper Mix in a Jar ~
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
1 cup semisweet chocolate pieces
1 cup rolled oats
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup peanut butter pieces
Layer in wide-mouth 1-quart canning jar in order listed above
Press each layer firmly in place before adding next ingredient
Put the lid on the jar and tie a homespun fabric bow around the lid
As an added touch, tie a wooden spoon to the lid
Attach jar labels to the jar with the following instructions

~ Chippers ~
1 jar cookie mix
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven to 375F
Empty contents of jar into a large bowl
Add softened butter, egg, and vanilla. Stir
until combined. Drop dough by heaping
teaspoons 2 inches apart onto a greased
cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes or
until edges are lightly browned
Transfer to wire racks and cool
Makes 24-30 cookies
