A fun and easy way to package great gifts for giving
Give jars by themselves or use as the perfect addition to any gift basket
Great idea for the holidays or any special occasion
~ Cherry Chip Cookie Mix in a Jar ~
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup quick cooking rolled oats (uncooked)
1/2 cup dried cherries
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
6 ounces white chocolate chips**
(**or semisweet chocolate chips, if desired)
Layer in wide-mouth 1-quart canning jar in order listed above
Press each layer firmly in place before adding next ingredient
Add additional cherries, chips or nuts to fill jar to the top, if needed
Put the lid on the jar and tie a homespun fabric bow around the lid
As an added touch, tie a wooden spoon to the lid
Attach jar labels to the jar with the following instructions

~ Cherry Chip Cookies ~
1 jar cookie mix
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 egg
Preheat oven to 375F
Cream butter or margarine in a large bowl,
add egg and beat well. Stir in the contents
of jar. Drop by teaspoons onto a lightly
greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes
Remove to wire rack to cool
Makes 3 dozen cookies
