Briarwood Button Cookie
~ Mix in a Jar ~
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup oatmeal
1 cup M&M's
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
Rice Krispies to fill jar
Layer in wide-mouth 1-quart canning jar in order listed above
Press each layer firmly in place before adding next ingredient
Put the lid on the jar and tie a homespun fabric bow around the lid
As an added touch, tie a wooden spoon to the lid
Attach jar labels to the jar with the following instructions

~ Briarwood Button Cookies ~
1 jar cookie mix
1 egg
1 stick butter or margarine
Preheat oven to 350F
Place the contents of the jar into a bowl
Add egg and butter or margarine. Mix well
with a spoon. Drop by spoonsful onto a lightly
greased cookie sheet
Bake for 10-12 minutes
