Apple-Cinnamon-Walnut Oatmeal
~ Mix in a Bag ~


1--7oz package dried apples
1--18oz container quick-cooking oats
1--3oz jar non-dairy creamer
1/2 cup brown sugar; firmly-packed
1/2 cup walnuts; chopped
1 tsp salt
2 tsp ground cinnamon

Place dried apples in a processor; process until finely chopped
Add remaining ingredients and process until well blended
Store in a resealable plastic bag
For gift giving insert plastic bag in cloth gift bag (instructions below**)
Yields about 7 1/2 cups oatmeal mix; about 15 servings

As an added touch, tie a wooden spoon to the bag

Attach recipe card to the bag with the following instructions

**Fabric Bag
(for dry mixes)
1 -- 11 x 40-inch piece of fabric
With right sides of cloth together and matching
short edges, fold fabric in half. Finger press
folded edge (bottom of bag.) Using a 1/4-inch seam
allowance and thread to match fabric, sew sides of
bag together. Press top edge of bag 1/4-inch to
the wrong side. Press 1/2-inch to the wrong side
again and stitch in place
For a bag with a flat bottom
match each side seam to fold line at bottom of bag;
sew across each corner 1 inch from point. Turn bag
right side out. Pour mix or place plastic bag of mix
into fabric bag and close the top of the bag with
a pretty ribbon or homespun fabric

~ Apple-Cinnamon-Walnut Oatmeal ~

1/2 cup oatmeal mix
2/3 cup boiling water

Stir boiling water into oatmeal mix until
well blended. Let stand until thickened
